Pi for a Pie

International Pi Day

International Pi Day happens every year on March 14. Pi is a very special Irrational number. It does not terminate.  This means the end of Pi has still not been found. This year at KSC we had our annual Pi day challenge, where students and staff try to memorise and recite Pi to 25 or more decimal places. Those who can, receive a free hot pie at lunch the following week. Congratulations to all the students and staff who participated and started learning Pi.

Once again, Jack Okely and Jhanice Victuelles from Year 10 were the trophy winners.

Jack was able to remember Pi to 340 decimal places and Jhanice to 115 places.
