Parent Information on My Aitken

In the Resources / Parents section on My Aitken, there is much information for parents of Aitken students, from term dates and calendar to canteen and uniform. Also included are policy statements that we encourage parents to be aware of. Our eSmart Policy expresses our commitment to the principles of the eSmart Schools program and details how these are implemented at Aitken College. Our ICT Agreement stipulates the expectations for student use of the College’s IT network and facilities and details the responsibilities and obligations that students have when using College ICT resources, when bringing their own devices to school and their conduct as a member of the school community.

Summer Uniform

Now is the time to be checking items of summer uniform for the start of Term 4. Please check that boys have enough shirts to get through a week, girls’ summer dresses are at the correct length and boys and girls have enough Aitken College socks. Winter uniform is only permissible at the start of Term 4 if the weather is very cold for the first week or two at most. The winter parka is not permitted during the summer terms and should be left at home.

Dogs

Recently a number of families have had dogs at school at drop-off or pick-up time. Please note that it is not appropriate to bring dogs to school as this may cause anxiety for some members of the school community.

Traffic

Drivers not complying with traffic rules recently are:

• Travelling in excess of 20km/hr speed limit: ATU 455, 1KK 8BQ, AJR 578, 1ES 1VX, RCC 279, XVT 869, XRE 253
• Driving the wrong way along the windmill road during one-way period: XRE 253, SALAR1
• Entering parent carpark through the exit:  1NK 5PX
• Parking in the loading zone to drop-off/pick-up: XRE 253, 1LN 9HE
• Leaving vehicle unattended in pick-up/drop-off zone: TKE 965
