Year 12 Students
We are currently in the thick of Year 12 Pathways interviews and many students are deciding to input a VTAC application. Most students are arriving well prepared for their interview which is very pleasing.
La Trobe University Aspire and ACU CAP early entry program applications have now closed. Applicants can expect to hear the outcome of their applications before the end of term.
VU Guaranteed applications are still open, closing on Friday 11 October. VU Guaranteed means “You matter. Your career goals and aspirations matter”. VU Guaranteed exists to ensure that if you are willing and motivated to study you can access a course that will take you to your chosen career path. VU will contact you once the Year 12 results are released to offer you tailored advice on all your study options. If you do not meet the admission criteria for the course you nominated in your VU Guaranteed application, you will be mapped into an alternative course during the VTAC Change of Preference period (12 - 14 December 2019). This means you are still guaranteed a place with VU that will help you find a pathway to your career goals.
Special Consideration (SEAS) applications also close on Friday 11 October. Supporting Statements are due by the same date. No extensions are possible.
Year 11 in 2020 and Year 12 in 2020: The timetable for 2020 is currently being finalised and students will be advised shortly about whether there are any timetabling issues with the subjects chosen for next year.
Victoria University Bus
The questions were posed:
- Did you miss the Victoria University Open Day?
- Do you want to find out more about VU Guaranteed?
- How does the ‘block model’ of learning work?
- Do you need a course guide?
- Want to discuss scholarships?
If the answer to any of the above was ‘yes’, then the visit of the Victoria University Bus to Aitken College on Monday 26 August was indeed good news. The mobile bus, apart from housing all things VU: course guides, information packs and brochures was manned/peopled by VU student ambassadors and a senior member of the Future Students team.
Jessie and her staff were able to answer all questions about VU and it was fantastic to see current Year 10 and Year 11 students visiting the bus to get information in preparation for decisions to be made in the not so distant future. Numerous Year 12 students also participated. Many thanks to all those attending for making the event such a worthwhile exercise and a resounding success.
