Yalari | TREE Internship | History Competition
Kinross Wolaroi School is proud to partner with Yalari to support the education of Indigenous children from regional, rural and remote communities. This month our Head of Indigenous Education, Lee Taylor and ten of our First Nations students were invited to a special evening to celebrate the achievements of Yalari students and the shared dedication and vision of Yalari's partners and supporters. Kinross Wolaroi currently has over twenty boarders in its Indigenous Program, who are supported by a passionate team of professionals to succeed at school and beyond.
Zoe Bird – Year 10 TREE Intern
Last term I applied for the TREE internship program and was successful, I was chosen for an internship at Clever Cookie Academy. I applied for the internship as I was keen for a new experience and a saw a great opportunity to thrive in a workplace.
CCA is assisting me to expand my knowledge with social media networking and how to pitch to customers online, the marketing part of a business and also planning and preparing for lessons.
In week 1, I went with Ms. Gavin to meet with Gay, Peita and Rob for a pitch interview, I successfully got the internship and received some information about what the next 10 weeks would hold.
The past 3 weeks I’ve been spending time with Gay, Peita and Rob and working on an event coming up in September. I’ve been organising and coordinating some logistics regarding this event which I’ve been loving !!!
For the rest of the term, I will be planning and organising the run sheet for the event, all information and social tiles. I have really enjoyed the internship experience so far and would recommend it to anyone. I’m really excited to see what the future holds, and keen to learn more about the business.
