Boarding Assistants

We are extremely fortunate to have the support of a talented team of boarding assistants across all boarding houses at Kinross Wolaroi. Our boarding assistants provide tremendous support to our boarders and work hard to build relationships and offer guidance throughout the year. They come from a wide and varied background, from university students to teachers at local primary and secondary schools. We also have staff from professions outside of education. They all bring a wealth of knowledge and a variety of skills to our boarding program. This week we are profiling some of our fantastic external boarding house staff.

Enjoy getting to know them below:

Emily Collett (Loader House)

Time at KWS: 7 months

Interest and hobbies: (NOT COOKING) Running, travelling & going to the beach

Favourite dining hall meal: CUTLETS!

Favourite Supper: Homemade cold rock ice cream

Favourite Weekend Activity: Whole site talent show.

Reasons I like working in Loader: Loader has such a fun vibrant energy. The girls are hilarious and really come together as a family. They look out for each other and are really respectful with staff. They are constantly teaching me new things about farming/their home towns and they are always willing to give everything a go. They are an incredibly bright and caring group, whilst also providing lots of belly laughs.

Favourite Weekend Activity: cooking with the boys or just getting out on the oval on a sunny afternoon and playing touch football

Reasons I like working in Weymouth House: they’re a great bunch of boys with a whole range of different interests and talents and I enjoy being able to get to know them and support them through their boarding experiences.
