Library News

Celebrating Humanities Week has seen the Library even busier at lunchtimes and recesses, with various events held to highlight the breadth of subjects coming under the umbrella of humanities.

A GeoGuessr Challenge, Cinema in the Library showing Sir David Attenborough’s 2022 documentary The Green Planet - Water Worlds and the classroom area transformed into a Courtroom (complete with Judge and jury deliberating on a case) kept students engaged and entertained. The large map of the world encouraged students to point out family links and places they have travelled to or want to visit.

Here are a few of the library jokes which have kept students chuckling over the past two weeks:

Why was the man so fascinated by the book on black holes?
          It really sucked him in.

Why did Harry Potter fail the Hogwarts essay-writing competition?
He forgot to run spell check over his work.

Why do hardcover books keep so warm in cold weather?
         They wear jackets!

Happy reading!
