Out of School Hours Care

TheirCare

17th August

We’ve had a great couple of weeks at TheirCare. One highlight has been our daily yarning circle during which we have been discussing some of our favourite things, what we have been looking forward to, goals of ours, and what we are proud of ourselves for. It was so lovely to hear the children share goals such as, “spending more time with my family” and “making new friends in the new apartment building”. Some of the things the children were proud of included their performances at athletics day and in their after school sports. In the mornings, we’ve been sharing one word to describe the kind of day we would like to have today as we leave the MPR and begin our day. Some standouts: “futuristic”, “ecstatic”, “sweaty”, “spectacular”, “quiet”, and “all the good things”. What fun!

Last week the student where exploring the wonderful world of fruits. To kick off the week, we decorated pieces of cardboard in the shapes of a watermelon and a strawberry. With access to many craft supplies students used mosaics, paint and many other supplies. ~ Stella N
