Cross Country

On 19 June,  I was able to go to cross country along with 46 other MSJ girls. It was lots of fun. Many girls showed up especially in year 8. It was great weather for a run, the sun was shining but there was a nice cool wind. Year 8's ran first and it was so much fun, all of the girls were running and were super pumped. I was very lucky to come first place, followed by Chira Nolan and Chloe Scott.

The teachers who came along were awesome. Some of the teachers were on the bikes following us, there were teachers recording our times, teachers collecting the scores and teachers who were on duty with first aid kits. Each one was super important and we could not have done it without them. It was an great turnout and hopefully next year we can go to the next level.

SCSA Hockey Results

The senior MSJ hockey team didn’t have the ideal start, losing to Mater Christi 1-0 in our first game and finishing in a draw in the second, but winning 3 games straight after this sent us into the grand final. We played Mater Christi again but this time won 3-0 after improving as a team throughout the day.

It was a good day for everyone and a great win, especially as it was the last SCSA hockey tournament for some of this year’s year 12 students.

A massive thank you to all the teachers involved, including Mrs Gonzalez, Ms Bowring, Miss Hawkins and Sue for all of their hard work and time put into coaching and organising the day!

Spotswood Primary Schools Netball Competition

On Thursday June 7, fourteen MSJ students in Years 8-10, volunteered to umpire the Spotswood Primary Schools Netball competition at Altona Netball Stadium.

This is a yearly community event where MSJ students have the opportunity to volunteer for to help ensure this event can run each year, with quality umpiring and role models for the primary students competing.

The day was a huge success, and our MSJ students represented the school with great pride.

Lumen Christi Athletics

On Tuesday 19 June, some of us past Lumen Christi students went down to the Victoria University athletics track in Werribee and helped out with their athletics carnival. The weather was cold and a little windy, however it didn’t stop the younger students from having fun and enjoying themselves. Overall, the day was really fun, the past students got to see some of their teachers and catch up, and we got to see all the younger students who we went to school with, all grown up. It was a really fun day and we all had a lot of fun!
