Sculptures by the Sea

Senior Visual and Media Arts students made their annual pilgrimage to Cottesloe Sculptures by the Sea on Wednesday March 15. This year we arranged a guided tour of the exhibition, which included meeting some of the artists themselves, providing a deeper level of understanding of the ideas, materials and processes involved in making the works.

This was followed by a visit to Fremantle where the Media Arts class went on a photo walk, collecting ideas for their portfolios. The Visual Arts class made their way to the Artsource building where they were welcomed into the private studios of several of Perth’s best exhibiting artists such as Marcia Espenosa, Charmaine Ball, Bjoern Rainer Adamson, Susan Roux and Hiroshi Kobayashi. It was a wonderful day that has inspired our students to explore ideas and produce works of a higher calibre and complexity.
