Library Corner

The Library turned purple then orange during March as GEC celebrated International Women’s Day then Harmony Day and Cultural Diversity Week. Congratulations to Queenie Phan (10A) and Natalie Duieb (7A) who were winner and runner-up of the joint SRC/Library Bookmark Design Competition. Many wonderful designs were entered, each one celebrating an inspirational woman as part of the college-wide observance of International Women’s day on Friday 8th March. The winning designs will be available in the Library in the near future.

The annual Victorian Premier’s Reading Challenge has commenced and interested students may contact Ms Michael to obtain their sign in details. Participants are required to read 15 books from the suggested reading lists before 6th September.

Avid readers can now enjoy listening to audiobooks as part of GEC’s Wheelers ePlatform subscription in addition to accessing eBooks. Library staff can assist you getting started. An app is available to download to mobile devices so that books can be enjoyed on the go.
