SRC Activities

International Women's Day

As a part of International Women’s Day, the SRC and the library ran a bookmark making competition. Students had to design a bookmark about an inspiring woman. Our runner up was Natalie Duieb from 7A and the winner was Queenie Phan from 10A. Thank you to all those who entered. All the designs will be available as laminated bookmarks in the library.

International Women’s Day was celebrated this year with the help of the SRC who made purple ribbons and handed them out to students and teachers as they arrived at school that morning. Thank you to the library who made a beautiful display of books and helped run the bookmark making competition.

Harmony Day

In week 8 GEC celebrated a harmonious week of multicultural celebrations from dancing to French pop songs, to making origami and singing along to Japanese and Korean pop, culminating in a casual clothes day where teachers and students dressed in orange or their cultural dress to celebrate our diversity on Harmony Day. In the process we were able to raise an amazing $640.00  for UNICEF. Thank you to all the teachers and students for their support in making this a lovely week.
