Principal News

May today there be peace within.

May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.

May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.

May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.

May you be content knowing you are a child of God.

Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise, and love.

It is there for each and every one of us.

Amen

Dear Parents, Students and Friends,

Last Tuesday evening a large number of Year 7 families attended our first gathering for the year, where parents were introduced to staff. Year 7 Pastoral Coordinator Mr James Moore informed them about various happenings that the Year 7 students have been involved in and upcoming events. My thanks to all who attended and to Mr Moore for organising a successful evening. Today Year 7 are celebrating their Community Day. The theme is “We are Gifted” and the liturgy and activities centre around recognising that we all have talents and gifts and they can be twice blessed when these are shared with others. The students will be working with the Year 10 Peer Support Leaders in the afternoon session.

Congratulations to everyone involved in last Friday’s Swimming Carnival . Every year students and staff are “challenged” with the weather and usually it is because of he heat. Not this time! The storms that thundered over us made for a memorable day but they didn’t deter form everyone giving their best. My particular thanks to Sports Coordinator Mrs Patten for her organisation and to parents who helped out on the day.

Our Student Leadership Team held a fundraiser for their selected charities on St Valentine’s Day and made a profit of $563.30. Congratulations to all the student leaders and to everyone who supported this project.

Finally, an invitation to our community to join the College at our 2019 Opening Mass next Friday 22 February at 1pm in the Marcellin Hall. There will also be a Youth Mass the following Sunday  24 February in the Hall at 9am.

Car Park and Drop-Off/Pick Up area Please be aware that traffic around the College is a nightmare at the end of the school day. Only a limited number of car spots within College grounds are available before 3:25pm and once they are gone stacking into Macarthur St occurs. Council have advised that blocking the road is illegal and parents may be fined by the authorities. If there are vacant spaces in the student car park, by all means use them. If you make arrangements to pick your child up at 3:30pm or later you will never have a concern about being fined as the car park crush is over. My advice is to come then, and not earlier. It is only 5 minutes later. You have been advised!

No students are to be crossing Wakaden St in front of the College. Students heading towards the main street are asked to first cross MacArthur St and then crossover on the western side of Crossing St (near the railway line).

Peace and Best Wishes
