I have a passion for International students and I am looking forward to enhancing Integration and Global Citizenship at Nazareth. Some of these activities will include programs such as International Ambassadors and International Mentors.
Please note:
The College will soon implement a Bridging English Language Course to start in Term 3 2018.
This course is designed for International students to come directly to Nazareth College from their native countries without first studying at an English Language Centre. Enrolments for this course are now available for prospective students.

Mini Vinnies Term 1 wrap up
The Nazareth St Vincent De Paul conference had a brilliant Term One, with over 45 enthusiastic members’ eager to get involved and do their part for their school and their community.
The commissioning ceremony brought out the nerves in many students, however, because of the friendliness of the St Vincent De Paul representatives, the students were quickly able to feel at ease and simply enjoy the welcome to the Conference.
Later in the term, our junior Vinnies students in years 7 to 9 hosted a cluster day for the local primary schools. Many primary schools made the trip to Nazareth, and our students were inspired by the dedication these students possessed and all of their hard work and passion for Vinnies. We hope that the primary school students obtained some new ideas for their Mini Vinnies groups, as we certainly did from them. Overall, it was a great day and our conference members had valuable time assisting and getting to know the primary students.
Our main focus of Term One was definitely the Easter Raffle. Our Vinnies members so generously gave up their time to sell tickets for the final weeks of term and it was their dedication, as well as the astounding compassion shown from staff and other students, that allowed for a total of 20 hampers to be made and a total amount of $650 raised, $150 more than last year!
We are extremely grateful for the efforts and generosity shown by the whole school and we look forward to working again with you throughout the year, especially as our Social Justice mass approaches. Get ready for the House Competition, where points will be awarded for items donated- non-perishable foods, toiletries, used clothing, toys, blankets etc. Stay tuned, and don’t forget…the pizza lunch prize!

Faith and RE Learning Area
This week sees the beginning of the Building Bridges Interfaith program, which Nazareth has been involved in for nearly a decade. It is open to a selected number of Year 10 students who will be learning further skills in the area of dialogue with students from differently faith-based schools in our area. This will involve events at Catholic, Christian, Jewish and Islamic schools. We look forward to another successful year of breaking down the barriers that can separate us from others.
Youth Ministry is flourishing at Nazareth. Students begin with a Unit of Work in Year 9, which can become an alternative RE subject for them in Years 10 to 12. This year we are blessed with two Year 10 classes. Their major assessment task for the course is to design and run sacramental activities in our feeder primary schools. In late May both classes will be involved in liturgies with St Elizabeth's and St Simon's Primary schools. In term 3 we will be returning to St Justin's for their Confirmation Retreat. On Friday the 27th April Year 10's will have their Reflection day. Information slips have been given to students.
Year 11 Youth Ministry students have already successfully run the Year 7 Reflection day as part of their course. In Term 3 they will be assisting Mark Clark from the Catholic Education Melbourne office, running activities for St Elizabeth's Social Justice day. The skills of our students will be proven again on this day.
Class Masses will begin again this week also. Year 7 and 8 are the focus for this term. A reminder that the college is blessed with mass every Thursday morning at 8.10am. Parents and guardians are most welcome.
God bless,
Mr Peter Nathan
