Respectful Realationships Excursion
On Monday the 21st Of May, Ameeta, Aiden, Thomas, Maliha, Ty and Sienna went on a respectful relationships excursion at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre.
It was all about treating people equally even with their flaws and how we can do something to raise awareness at our schools.
We learnt about challenging gender stereotypes, asking for help and bullying. Another important thing we learnt was to identify what are the qualities that make up a good leader,we nailed it down to these five
-Honesty
-Determination
-Self - Control
-Fairness
-Hardworking
Our school was selected to be a lead school out of 80 schools in Western Melbourne and only 9 schools out of the 80 were chosen. So, well done to Truganina South. Another important thing that we did at this excursion was create slogans to help better our schools. For example, our favourite was “Go the extra mile, to make a friend smile.” These slogans will be displayed as posters around schools in West Melbourne.
It was a really fun and informative day. As a representative school we look forward to working closely with the respectful relationships team to instil confidence in students and to support and build equal opportunities within schools.
