Kingswood Junior Choir

The Kingswood Junior Choir gave an enthusiastic performance at this week's assembly singing two songs from their repertoire: ‘Oh A Lele’, an African Call and Response song and ‘Candy Man’ from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

Each fortnight the Junior Choir leads the Junior School in singing the National Anthem and School Song at Assembly. A special thanks to Charlie in 4T for organising the students on and off the stage as well as conducting them.

The health and educational benefits of singing, particularly group and choral singing are well documented. ‘Studies show that choral singing improves our mood, with a decrease in stress, depression and anxiety. These benefits are enhanced in a group setting, compared to singing alone. Singing in a group offers us a sense of belonging to something bigger than ourselves.’ [Artistworks.com].

The Junior Choir is for students in Years Prep to 2 and rehearses on Thursday lunchtimes in the Performing Arts room. New members are always welcome and encouraged. We are now preparing to sing at the Father’s Day Breakfast, so it is a perfect time for students to join.

Pillow Cases Needed

Thank you to all the parents of Years 3 -6 students who have already sent costume shoes etc. to school in preparation for our Iconic Music Concert.

We are now in need of some more pillow cases to store this year's costumes.

If you have any pillow cases that you are happy to donate, could you please send them to the office.
