Student Representative Council (SRC)

Lara Moloney

Chairperson

My role is to represent the SRC and the rest of the school’s student voice at official functions and meetings. I make sure that the SRC meetings are run efficiently and in an effective manner. Most importantly, I ensure that every voice is heard and listened to.

My aspirational goal for the O’Connor SRC is to strengthen the value of the SRC and build meaningful student-teacher relationships to transform our school!

Fletcher Schultz and Angus Scrivener

Vice-chairpersons

Our role is to mentor our new and younger SRC members. We also chair the Year 7 Student Council. We build the leadership skills of our members and help identify and refine our long term goals. When the chairperson is absent we take on her responsibilities as well!

Our aspirational goals for the O’Connor SRC is to change the way people view the SRC from a group who gather ideas, to a valued student body who encourages and makes meaningful change.

Nikolai Tursan d’Espaignet, Riley Fittler and Bronte Swain

Secretaries

Our role is to prepare and record what happens during our meetings, including: minutes, agendas, and plans. We also ensure that all members attend the meetings through clear communication.

Our aspiration goals are to build a strong sense of community in our school environment through developing people’s belief that we, as representatives of all students, can effectively challenge, improve and support life at our school.

Ehan Boshoff and Isabelle Kelly

Teacher Liaisons

Our role is to be the bridge between the SRC and the teachers building relationships and respect.

Our aspirational goal is to see students and teachers proactively seeking feedback to foster and sustain joy in our learning for ALL in the classroom.

Eliza Boland and Abbee Killen

Communications officers

Our role is to ensure that the students, staff, parents/caregivers and the broader community, KNOW and value the SRC. We do this through promotional activities including: co-ordinating with people external to the school and the O’Connor Newsletter.

Our aspirational goal for the SRC is that we are a body of change agents. Student voice is imperative but it doesn’t stop there. Our voice needs to be listened to. We want to see the SRC working collaboratively with the O’Connor teachers and school leadership team on the big issues as EQUALS.
