Hard to believe – it’s Term 4
It has been an exciting start to Term 4 as Year 5-6 and some Year 3-4 classes moved into the new building, with its beautiful Manning Valley views. We eagerly await the time when we can show you around in person when COVID restrictions are eased.
Term 4 will be a busy one, as is usually the case, although a little different this year. The HSC commences next week please continue to pray for our Year 12 students. We will keep you informed via email of events coming in Term 4.
The Yarning Circle
The Australian Government provided the College with a grant through the Local Schools Community Fund to enable the Yarning Circle to be constructed. Uncle Mick has been introducing students and staff to this outdoor space during morning devotions and explaining the cultural significance of ‘sharing our stories’.
The Yarning Circle is a wonderful asset to the College and a great learning space that will serve to build our community, as students and staff share their stories. The College would like to thank the Australian Government and our local Federal Member for Lyne, Dr David Gillespie, for their support of the College.
You're invited - Senior Showcase Part 2

Goodbye Esmay
At the end of Term 3 we sadly said farewell to Esmay, one of our faithful long serving volunteers. Esmay has been serving the College community for 12 years. Those who have been part of the College for some time, will remember the packs sent home at the beginning of each year. Esmay and her sisters would come to the College office during the holidays, faithfully and cheerfully packing all the envelopes with paper work for each family.
Esmay is moving out of the area to be closer to her grandchildren. We will miss her willing service but also her quiet and faithful manner that is an inspiration to us all here in Admin. Goodbye and thank you Esmay
World Teachers’ Day (ALL School Staff Recognition Day)
Held annually since 1994, World Teachers’ Day is an initiative of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). It recognises the important work of teachers in the academic, pastoral growth and development of children throughout the world.
“The COVID-19 crisis created a unique situation for teacher leadership, creativity and innovation to be demonstrated. Around the world, teachers are working individually and collectively to find solutions and create new learning environments for their students to ensure that learning could be continued. In most cases without much warning and with little time to prepare, teachers have had to modify or condense the curriculum and adapt lesson plans to carry on with instruction, whether via the internet, mobile phone, television, or radio broadcast. In many low-income countries, where there is poor or no connectivity to the internet or mobile networks, teachers have prepared take-home packages for their students. The move to online learning has required capacity for innovation and creativity never before attempted in order to keep children engaged and learning.”
UNESCO World Teachers’ Day 2020 Concept Note
At TCC, we recognise and value the hard work and impact of every member of staff, both teaching and non-teaching. We also acknowledge that it is privilege, joy and blessing to educate and support children and young people at school. We thank God for this opportunity and pray for His continual leading and guiding.
Perhaps you and your child would like to show your appreciation to someone on staff.
