Save the Date - Parent teacher Interviews
This week, while shopping at my local store, I saw a dad taking his son for a ride on his bike complete with training wheels. Dad was firing off directions at a rapid rate- “ stay behind me. Don’t cross the road, Park in front of my bike”. It struck me that when our children are younger they rely on us to guide their every move. As our children grow into independent young adults, our role as parent’s changes slightly. Instead of choreographing their every move, we are now called to let go of the ropes a little, let our adolescents make some decisions and to learn from the consequence. This gradual release model, allows young people to feel a sense of control and associate consequences with actions. In this light the consequence of the past 13 weeks of study, will soon be revealed to parents via Interim Reports and Parent Teacher Interviews.
It is expected that students make a time to attend Interviews with their parents so that a collaborative and supported approach can be discussed with teachers. In most cases, students will be able to celebrate their learning, so it is important that parents are able to attend to affirm positive behaviours and encourage students to continue in these good habits. Parent teacher interviews are for every student, not just those who are struggling with their learning behaviours.
As such, the College expects every parent to make arrangements to attend these important opportunities to speak to teachers.
Parent Teacher Interviews are available
Thursday 4th April – 4.00pm- 8.30pm.

When parents, teachers and students meet it creates a positive relationship that results in everyone working together with the child's best interests as the priority. Parent teacher interviews are one way of maintaining contact with school and staying 'in the loop'. To read more follow this link;
