Camp

Next Wednesday our Year 5/6 campers will depart for Camp Marysville. The aim of our camping program is to provide opportunities within the context of our Catholic principles and values that:

  • Develop deeper learning, confidence, independence, responsibility and sense of community
  • Promotes self-esteem, resilience, resourcefulness and leadership
  • Extends learning beyond the classroom
  • Provides opportunities to explore different environmental settings
  • Develops an appreciation of the wonder of the world
  • Enhances physical, social and emotional growth
  • Promotes growth of relationships

We hope our children have a wonderful time and enjoy the myriad of activities (e.g. rock climbing, mountain bike riding, abseiling) the camp has to offer. The long range weather forecast is looking promising so fingers crossed they are blessed with sunshine and blue skies.

Miss Stefanie Poropat, Miss Chloe Pincho, Mr Wil Marks, Mrs Anne Di Stefano  and Miss Lauren Borg will  be attending camp so we thank them (in advance) for giving of their time to look after our children 24/7. Mrs Karly McGregor will look after our Year 3/4L class in Lauren's absence.

Timetable Change

To facilitate our Year 5/6 Camp there will need to be timetable changes next week. Basically we are swapping our Tuesday with our Thursday timetable.

So... Year 1/2B and all of Year 5/6 need to wear sports uniform on Tuesday and all of Year Prep and Year 3/4 along with 1/2C and 1/2H need to wear their sports uniform on Thursday.

Review Week

On Thursday we continued with Day 2 of our Review Week. On Tuesday Graham and Annette (our external reviewers) met with a number of teachers and leaders and engaged in conversation with a group of Year 5/6 students to help build their understanding of what is Corpus Christi School.  Tomorrow they will meet with a parent focus group, a representation of our Year 3/4 students and the remaining teachers. Looks like another busy day ahead!

Sports Stars

Congratulations to Armani Mauriohooho, Nigel Pham, Mia Crawford and Bawngtu Inmang who competed at the Regional Athletic's Carnival on Tuesday. All children performed admirably against tough and seasoned competition.

A special congratulations to Armani  who smashed her personal best in the high-jump by 9cm, jumping a whopping 1.27m claiming first place on the podium. Armani will now compete in the State Championships next Thursday at Albert Park. Good luck!

Summer Uniform

It's time to put away the winter uniform for another year!

It is expected that all children will now be wearing their correct summer uniform. Uniform items are readily available through the school office for purchase.

While you are getting your summer items together, please make sure everything is labelled with your child's name. It still amazes me the number of nameless items which are left in classrooms or brought to the office.

Year Prep 2020

Next Monday we will host our first Year Prep 2020 Transition Morning so there will be NO morning assembly.

It's always an exciting time welcoming our new children (and families) and one we always look forward to.

Our current Year Preps will be working in different spaces in the morning ( Year Prep G in the library and Year Prep N in the  art room ). There will be extra congestion in and around the school especially in regards to parking so please plan for this in your morning routine.

Term 4 Closure Day

The school closure day for Term 4 is on Monday 4th November for staff professional development.  Children do not attend school on that day.

Fees and Levies

Thank you to all families who have finalised Fee and Levy payments for 2019. A reminder that all accounts (unless otherwise arranged with me) are due now. Payments can be made at the school office or by EFT via:

BSB: 083 347

Account Number: 488033614

Please reference family name or ID number with your payment.

Student Portfolios

We hope you have had the opportunity to explore with your child the portfolio over the holiday period and have celebrated their successes. We ask that the portfolios are now returned to your child’s teacher so that we can commence compiling samples for Term 4.

2020 Planning

Our planning for 2020 is well underway in regards to staffing and class structure. If any family knows that they will not be returning in 2020 I ask you to make contact with the school office as soon as practical.

Have a wonderful week

God Bless
