Principal's Report

Trivia Night Success!

What a fantastic event our Springer's Trivia Night was!  It was wonderful to see so many of our families and staff come along to test their knowledge, with the questions presented by our very own PSPS students.  A massive thank you needs to go to our host of the evening Mr Teague Rook and fellow Media Arts teacher Mrs Esther Priestley for their hours of time and commitment in preparing, filming and editing the presentation for the night.  Over $1500 was raised by the school which will go towards upgrading our teaching and learning resources for 2020.  Thank you also to the other staff and parents who helped sell raffle tickets, run games and set up the Gym for the night.

Book Fair Was Here!!!!

As you can see from our photos in this newsletter, our Book Fair was a HUGE hit this year!              Mrs Amanda Parnall, along with Crystal Hollow and Mara Goncalves (and their band of Yr 6 helpers and other volunteers) spent a massive amount of time setting up and running our Book Fair and it was great to see so many families get along to browse the books, purchase a few Christmas presents and get up close and personal with Geronimo Stilton!  Well done to all of our colouring competition participants and a special mention to our winners - you certainly did some magnificent colouring.

Throughout the Book Fair, we sold over $7000 in products which means that a sizeable commission will be available to the school to continue to update our library books and resources.

Don't forget our mini-market and concert celebration afternoon!

I'm looking forward to seeing lots of our families come along on Wednesday 4th December from 3.00pm-6.00pm to browse our market stalls, have an early dinner from one of our food stalls, take part in some tennis activities, check out the drone and robots, participate in some plaster painting and enjoy the Christmas carols and other songs presented by our students.  Don't forget to bring a chair, cushion or picnic rug to sit on - the concert will be performed on the outdoor stage facing the basketball court. Our staff and students have been working hard on polishing their performances and planning their market stalls - please show your support for their efforts by attending this fun, community event.

2020 Essential Educational Items

School Council discussed the Essential Education Items that will be required by all students next year.  The amounts will be different for each year level due to the different materials required at each year level.  Each year we do our best to source affordable and bulk pricing to obtain great quality resources, whilst maintaining an affordable education for our families.

These are now published on Compass - if you require a payment plan we are happy to make one with you, please contact our Business Manager, Sue Northover, via the school email or phone if this is something that would assist you.

Hats

Term 4 is a hat term and most students have done well to remember them.  If your child is needing a new one they are available through Beleza.  Please note that caps and hoods are not considered to be 'Sun Smart' alternatives under our Sun Protection Policy and are therefore not appropriate for outdoor activities at Pakenham Springs.

Wishing you all a fabulous fortnight ahead...

As we move into the final weeks of the 2019 school year, the days seem to get busier and busier!  We have a number of events coming up over these next 3 weeks for all students, including excursions, incursions and celebrations.  Please ensure your details are up to date on Compass so you don't miss out on any notifications.

Have a fabulous fortnight,

Renee Cotterell

(Acting Principal)
