As Semester One draws to a close I thought it might be nice to give people an update on happenings in the MYP at Preshil.
The big event on the horizon is the completion of the Personal Project for our Year 10 students. The Personal Project is a perfect opportunity for students to showcase the skills they have learned throughout the MYP and use them to explore an area of interest. There are some great projects in the works and I look forward to seeing them come to fruition.
The Personal Project Report is due to supervisors on Friday 20 July (the end of the first week back next term) so I imagine there will be a busy and productive holiday period coming up for some. The Personal Project Exhibition will be held on 23 and 24 August. Students should be speaking to their supervisors and accessing the Preshil Personal Project Weebly for support.
In other news, new staff have all completed subject specific MYP training courses to support them in delivering the MYP programme. All MYP staff meet regularly to collaboratively plan and design exciting and challenging units for our students and to reflect on how we can improve our practice.
It has been an exciting time for the MYP at Preshil as we have seen the first group pass through the programme and are now stepping up to the challenge of the Diploma Programme. The current group of MYP students gets to follow in the footsteps of those trailblazers, while simultaneously creating their own path. They have the benefit of standing on the shoulders of giants and from those lofty heights can see that the view is, indeed, splendid.
