On Track - WHAT A PERFORMANCE!!!!!

Tuesday night was the school's annual On Track performance night held at Gosford Racecourse. This is an exceptional CAPA performance to showcase the great talent we have at Henry Kendall High School. Thank you to the exceptional CAPA team led by Mr Walters and to our extraordinary students for shining bright !!!!!

Years 11 and 12: Assessment Schedules

Henry Kendall High School has a detailed assessment policy in place to support senior students. A copy is available on our website. Both Years 11 and 12 have been issued with these. Some key points for students and parents to remember in relation to the assessment policy:

  • All students have signed for the assessment book and must retain a hard copy.
  • The assessment policy is also found on the school website.
  • Misadventure: in the event of a major illness or problem occurring students must see the DP Curriculum as soon as possible. The student MUST see the DP their FIRST day back at school to apply for a misadventure and submit appropriate paperwork. A medical certificate or statutory declaration needs to be submitted with the paperwork for the task mark to be counted. Examples of the documentation needed are found in the assessment policy.
  • Technology glitches are not a valid reason for misadventure. Students must be organised and have a backup plan of using a USB to back up their work and printing at school if the need arises.
  • It is also a good idea to map tasks on a calendar or organiser so that they have a visual reminder of what is needed for time planning.

Thank you to our parent community for your ongoing support of this important process.

N-Awards – Tuesday Afternoons

N–award interviews are regularly being conducted with Year 11 and 12 to plan for the resolution of the N-awards with students.

Year 11 and 12 students who have been issued N awards in subjects for assessment tasks will be required to work in the library on a Tuesday afternoon to complete outstanding tasks, instead of leaving school. Those students who attend TAFE and have N-awards will need to negotiate an alternate time with their Deputy Principal.

Thank you in anticipation of your support.

Year 11 and 12 Parent Teacher Evening

Please be aware the Year 11 and 12 Parent Teacher Evening is on Tuesday 4 June 2019.  Booking is online from Monday 27 May.  Please see the information note attached for booking details.  An information note will also be sent home with students on Monday 27 May.

Senior Pathways Information Evenings -

6 June AND 20 June

7.00PM in the MPC

Year 10 will be entering an important phase of their schooling with the Senior Pathways Information Evenings being presented this term. These evenings provide crucial information needed by students and parents to make informed decisions for subject selections in Years 11 and 12. Information on the nights will include:

  • Variations in HSC pathways
  • NESA requirements for alternate HSC pathways
  • Stage 6 Prep Program
  • Transition to Stage 6- what’s involved.

It is an expectation that all year 10 students attend both evenings to understand the selection process and requirements. Students will also receive the subject selection booklet at the first evening.

Uniform Reminder

How a uniform is worn by students shows pride in themselves and our school, especially in our wider school community. Thank you to our parents for supporting our school and doing your best to ensure our students are in full school uniform every day.

With winter approaching please be aware of the following:

  • The school jumper or senior jacket must be worn and hooded jumpers are not allowed at any time.
  • Undershirts can be worn but must be white only.
  • Track suit pants, black or any other colour, are not to be worn non-sport days. On sport days, the school tracksuit pant may be worn - these are available at LOWES,  Gosford.
  • Girls are able to wear black stockings with their skirts or black tailored pants. Black leggings are not to be worn.
  • Boys can wear long black pants.

Black leather shoes must be worn - this is an OHS requirement.
