Intentions for 2019

If you are aware that your child will not be returning to Wantirna College in 2019, and you haven’t already communicated this information with us, then I would ask that you contact the office and communicate the details so that we can finalise our numbers for 2019.

End of term break

It has been an amazing term of achievements for staff and students and I know that the holidays can’t come quick enough for many. The term started with the Northern Territory Camps and Presentation Balls and has finished with the Year 12s completing many of their last ever SACs. Sandwiched in between these events has been the college production and many other excursions, events and activities that have made it a memorable term. It is important that all members of the community take the opportunity to have a good break to enable them to return refreshed for our dash to the finish line at the end of term 4. I would like to acknowledge the hard work of all of our staff who have once again ensured that our students are exposed to amazing experiences in and out of the classroom. In particular, I would like to thank Mrs. Katrina King for her work as acting Assistant Principal for the last 3 weeks of this term. Her work has allowed Mr. Kruger to have a well-deserved and timely break and has ensured a smooth transition for him at the start of term 4.

POPA Trivia Night

Last Saturday night I had the pleasure of attending the Parents of Performing Arts Trivia Night. Well over 100 people attended the event and the entire evening was a great success. The support from many community businesses and organisations was outstanding, allowing the organisers to offer amazing prizes and plenty of items for the silent auction. I congratulate POPA on organising and running a very successful and enjoyable event that raised over $7000 for the performing arts programs. Fundraising events like this make a tangible difference to the lives of our performing arts staff and students, now and for many years to come.
