Ariel came 3rd in the 800m and 1st in the 200m and Madi came second in hurdles, and first in shot put. Evan competed in long jump (he jumped 4.04m) and came second.

Grade 4 Umpiring Course

Our Grade Four students have greatly benefitted from umpire training, facilitated by former AFL footballer and current coach of the St Kilda AFLW team, Nick Dal Santo.

A big thank you to Nick (Jude’s dad) for generously giving his time to support Josh Ancrum in running an AFL Umpiring Course with our very keen year 4s. This initiative provided the students with an opportunity to unpack some of the challenges they face when playing on the oval with their friends. The key themes explored were:

  • Following the rules
  • How to celebrate graciously
  • Listening and supporting the umpire
  • Upstanding

Our grade 4 students will have the opportunity to continue to practice these skills with allocated ‘umpire duty’ in Exon playground to support our grade 1 students during play. Eli and Evan have discovered the challenges involved in organising and umpiring a group of younger students. They were both encouraging and up to the challenge!

Running Club

Our attempt at starting Running Club was thwarted by the weather this week, but we will try again next week. Please remember that if it has rained overnight, Running Club will be cancelled.

Running Club is an opportunity for students to run the boundary of our school with their peers, keeping track of laps. Its purpose is for fun and to encourage an active and healthy lifestyle and to focus on a 'personal best' (PB).
