ACCent on Music Concert

On Tuesday 13 September, student representatives from the St Bede's College music department performed in the ACCent on Music Concert at Hamer Hall (Arts Centre, Melbourne). Held every three to four years, the concert celebrates the combined musical talents of students from all ACC member schools. It also provides students the opportunity to collaborate with each other and perform on stage at Melbourne’s premier concert venue in front of a sell-out audience.

St Bede’s College students performed in a range of ensembles including the Junior Choir, Senior Choir, Intermediate Concert Band, Senior Concert Band and Drumline. Many thanks to our Percussion and Drumline teacher, Mr Peter Robertson, who composed and directed the Drumline performance.

I would like to congratulate and thank all of the students involved for their dedication, commitment, hard work and professionalism, particularly throughout the rehearsal process. One of the major highlights of the concert was the finale, where student performers from all thirteen ACC member colleges joined together to sing John Farnham’s classic anthem ‘You’re the Voice’, accompanied by the Senior Concert Band.

The next ACCent on Music concert will be held in 2025, where we hope to see even more student involvement in what is a truly spectacular and exciting musical event!
