History

Ancient Egypt

As part of the Year 7 History curriculum and their study of Ancient Egypt, students were asked to create a visual display or model of an aspect of Ancient Egyptian life which were then displayed in the Library and Year 7 area.

Students researched, designed and then produced a historically accurate model or artefact at home over the course of the unit. They are encouraged to be creative and think sustainably by using items they already had at home (recycled cereal boxes, egg cartons, toilet paper rolls or juice/ milk bottles etc.)

The Year 7 History teachers were excited to see their classrooms full of pyramids, Tutankhamun's death mask, jewellery, paintings, canopic jars and dioramas of the Nile river!

The students really embraced the assignment and brought in some really incredible models which allowed them to show their creativity and experiment with different mediums which interested them!
