Assistant Principals' Report

Term 4 is a busy term as we farewell our Year 12 students and wish them all the very best of luck for their exams commencing on Wednesday 26th of October, with their English Exam at 9:00am.

Our Year 12 students faced the impact of disrupted learning over the last few years and should be very proud of how far they have come and how resilient they have been. Each day of study and every completed piece of school assessed coursework (SAC) has brought them closer to completing the year. The finish line is in sight!

Remember good sleeping, eating and exercise habits can help alleviate some of the stress and anxiety. And stay hydrated!

Where possible try to imitate the exam environment when completing practice exams. This helps students feel more prepared to cope with the conditions of the actual examination experience.

Doing things like setting a timer to complete the practice exam, sitting up at a desk instead of slouched on your bed or couch, and working during daylight hours will help mimic exam conditions.

Check in with teachers if you need to ask questions and get some final supports.

Students should check the starting time of each examination and arrive at least 30 minutes earlier

In this final term of the year, our students in Years 9 to 11 will sit school-based Semester Exams. As we head towards Semester exams and reports, students in Years 7 to 11 and parents, are encouraged to regularly check in on Learning Tasks on Compass to monitor work completion, meeting deadlines and reviewing teacher feedback.

To view the Learning Tasks, select the Learning Tasks tab on your child’s Profile page:

Celebrating student success - let us know!

We would like to know if there have been any great achievements over the weekends or evenings that we need to celebrate. These can go out to the school community and we can celebrate and acknowledge our fantastic students. Whilst celebrating these achievements we also acknowledge other concerns that may occur outside of school hours. Please let the school know of these too so we can also put in place any supports for your child be it Well-being or with Year level leaders.

School Uniform

Students are not coming to school in the correct uniform and are not following the school expectations and values. If you are out of uniform for any reason you must bring a note explaining why. This should be handed into the Sub School Office or Admin Office at the start of the day.

We have noticed students are wearing hoodies, this is not part of the college uniform and students should not be wearing them, if a staff member at the school asks you to take it off you need to follow these instructions and that staff member will confiscate the hoodie until the end of the day.

If this continues we will begin contacting parents and consequences will be put in place.

Please remember the uniform guidelines:

  • Academic Uniform all days
  • No hoodies (uniform pass will not be issued)
  • PE uniform only on scheduled PE days
  • ADP training uniform for ADP sessions only
  • Out of uniform – get a uniform pass
  • Correct piercings (6 ear piercings across both ears and 1 Nose stud
