MULTIAGE CAMP!

by Amelie YR 3/4C

Camp Sunnystones is an amazing place with lots of things to do and see. From the moment we walked through the gates, I knew we were going to have fun!

The first thing my group did was the Survival game. The game was set on a five acre square bushland. he objective of the game was to tag people from the other teams to ear points. We all ended up pretty scratched up from the bush.

After that, we had my favourite dinner, Spaghetti Bolognese for dinner with chocolate mousse for desert. That night, I slept in a cabin. Next door was a group of rowdy kids that woke us up at 4:30am. It was soooooo annoying! They were thumping on the walls, laughing and shouting. The teachers told them off lots of times but they didn't listen.

We had an incredible time at Sunnystones. We're all really tired, and that proves that we had soooooo much fun!!!

YEAR 1 NEWS

The Grade 1 students have been investigating chance and data. Our learning started with exploring possibility terms like: will happen; might happen; and won't happen. Students explored asking questions and collating data. We learnt about good quality questions and tally marks.

We applied our learning by using smarties, first the students sorted their smarties into colours and then recorded their results in a table using tally marks. Students made statements about their collections: there is more pink than green; the most common colour is yellow. Lastly students transferred their results into a bar graph. They were excited to display their knowledge and learning. The best part of course was enjoying the smarties in the end.
