Inside the Classroom K/1S & 1/2C

Term 3, Week 10

In K/1S, students have been working hard on improving their handwriting using our ‘Casey the Caterpillar’ letter shapes. Students learned about the correct structure of writing a letter and enjoyed using this knowledge to write letters to Mrs Bishop before she went on leave. We said goodbye to our class quokka, Happy who has gone on an adventure with Mrs Bishop. K/1S love seeing their ‘Happy Noongar Update’ almost every morning to learn where they are and look at photos of what Happy and Mrs Bishop have been doing. Students have then been able to use these adventures in their writing. In Science, we have been learning about movement and understanding how different objects move or don’t move as well as how we move. It has certainly been a big term in K/1S and we’ve only got 1 term left!

1/2C have had a busy term of having fun and learning. They have been making sure they follow the schools 3 values of being ready, respectful and safe.

In writing they have been working on writing better sentences. They have been learning how to add more details to their sentences by adding conjunctions and adjectives. Mrs Cronin has been very excited reading their improved sentences in their stories.

In PE and sport they have been working on many skills. We have been learning the rules of T-ball and practicing our catching and throwing skills. They have been learning to kick soccer and footballs and were excited to improve their skills.
