World Pasta Day 2022

To celebrate World Pasta Day, Grades 5 and 6 made Christmas decorations using the pasta left over from Italian Day. The creations will be spray painted and ready to hang by Christmas time.

Indigenous Performance

Last week, Grades 3 to 6 were treated to an Indigenous Performance from Dion Drummond who is of Torres Strait Islander descent on his mother's side and Aboriginal on his father's side.  Through dance, song and story telling, Dion taught the students about the different traditions of both Torres Strait Island and Aboriginal culture. Students were invited to learn a little of the language through songs and participate in Indigenous dances.

Some comments from our students,

"The Indigenous performance was very good, it helped me learn some new moves and I liked what he sang."

"I liked how he made shakers out of Burnie beads."

"He had 3 different types of boomerangs that were cool and he told us what they were used for."

"I thought if was great fun, especially how we could go on stage and join in."

"My favourite parts of the show were seeing how the boomerangs work and the dancing."
