Grade 5/6
Visit to Warrandyte High
Earlier this term the grade 5 students were lucky to be invited to visit Warrandyte High School. We were taken the large distance from Warrandyte to Warrandyte by bus. On arrival we were greeted by Mr Caruana the Assistant Principal. We then broken into two groups and went to attend to different high school classes.
One group went to Home Economics and made chocolate balls, then they went to an Information Technology class. The second group went to a Drama class where they had a go at a variety of different tasks where they needed to work together. After this they went to a Science class where they got to use microscopes to view items like sugar, sand and feathers up close.
We all then got to enjoy a morning tea of fruit and biscuits and were presented with certificates for completing the classes before heading back to school. A few students experienced the vastness of a new place when they went the wrong way to get back on the bus. Luckily they were observed going the wrong way and directed back to where they needed to go.
It was a fun morning enjoyed by everyone who attended.

Important Dates
Weeks 1 - 5: Bike Ed - Thursday mornings 9am-11am
Monday 31st October: Curriculum Day
Tuesday 1st: Melbourne Cup Day Public Holiday
Thursday 3rd November: Bike Ed - Yarra River Ride (all students must have a working bell on their bike to attend)
Week 8 (21st Nov-25th Nov): Grade 5/6 Swimming Week at Carey Grammar
Monday and Tuesday 28th/29th November: Surf Day (split grades)
Thursday 15th December: Graduation Night
Monday 19th December: Class Parties and Kris Kringle
Tuesday 20th December: Term 4 Ends
