Donations Needed for the Art Room!

Please keep The Art Room in mind if you come across any smallish sized ‘bits and bobs’ that are interesting shapes, colours, and textures, as well as any nail polish you are no longer wanting to keep. We would appreciate your help in collecting these until the end of this term. They could be anything – old door keys, beads, computer parts that could be broken up, keys from old keyboards, or door keys that are no longer needed, scrabble pieces or other board game pieces, puzzle pieces, scrapbook paper, buttons,  small toys that could be broken up or used, old beaded jewellery, shells, string, leather twine, washers, soft-drink ring pulls or metal lids, safety pins, paper clips, embroidery thread, etc.

No used earring parts please, and please ensure anydonations are clean and contained in a paper or Glad-Bag (or similar).

Thank you for your help!

From the Art Department

Save your Match Boxes!

The Art Department is still collecting empty matchboxes. If you have any, could you please rescue them and drop them into the office to be redeemed in an upcoming art project.

Thank you in advance!

COVID Changes (Repeat)

Isolation Period

From midnight 8 September, the mandatory isolation period for a positive COVID-19 case has reduced to 5 days as long as the person is symptom free before they leave isolation.

People will be able to leave isolation after 5 days if:

  • all acute COVID-related symptoms have gone or have significantly resolved (e.g., cough, runny nose, sore throat, or shortness of breath)

AND

  • they have NOT had a fever (or signs of fever such as chills or night sweats) for at least 24 hours.

In addition, all individuals aged 12 years or older who leave isolation MUST:

  • wear a face mask until 7 days after they test positive.

The latest information can be found by clicking on here.

For the well being of all our community, it is important that if your child is unwell, we ask you to keep your children home and not send them to school.

Combined Primary/Secondary Assemblies

Secondary students will no longer be required to wear masks in combined primary/secondary assemblies at SCC.

We thank you for your support as we continue to journey COVID-19 together.

Head lice (Repeat)

We have had a number of cases of head lice in our primary classes.

Please check your child's head today.

Helpful information can be found here to help you with their treatment.

Gastroenteritis or Covid? (Repeat)

We have had a number of incidences of Gastroenteritis over the past week. If Public Health advises a RAT test, please follow those directions. If it is not Covid related, please be advised that children are not to return to school until they have been free from vomiting or diarrhoea for at least 48 hours.

If you have had Covid in the last 28 days, you are not required to test again even if you have symptoms as you are likely to return a positive test due to the virus continuing to leave your system.

Please refer to the Tasmanian Public Health guidelines at coronavirus.tas.gov.au for all the current information.
