Add a Splash of Colour

It's been a bit of a dull period of time, so why not add a splash of colour? Next Wednesday, March 10 we will be holding our 2nd Annual Colour Splash and we are so excited to have another amazing day get messy together. See the photo gallery below for some great memories from last time.

This event is a great way to celebrate the start of another school year and to welcome our newest members to the school, our awesome Preps!

It's a whole school colour run and obstacle course around the school and Athelstane Reserve, with big smiles and great vibes.

We invite parents to come and help out - you will be tasked with spraying children with colourful powder and encouraging them to keep going.

What kids need

Students should wear a white t-shirt to participate. It can be a plain white t-shirt you buy or an older one with a print.

If students are going to run but do not want to be sprayed with powder, they can wear a black t-shirt. (Last time, a number of students changed their mind on the day, it can be a good idea to pack a white t-shirt in their bag if this is the case.)

All students will be provided with a headband and a pair of sunglasses to protect their eyes.

If you would like to volunteer, you can help out in two ways:

Help with Preparation

 1. This Friday, March 5 parents can meet at 2pm on the basketball court and we will fill the bottles. This is an important job that needs a lot of hands so all helpers welcome.

Help on the day

2. On the day, Wednesday March 10, parents can meet at 1.30pm on the basketball court to help finish setting up the course and join a powder station to be part of the action. We need a lot of people to make this work, so the more the merrier!

2a. Last time, a few parents brought along low-powered, battery leaf blowers to help clean up the kids before heading home. This would be very helpful.

Hint from past parents: A couple of bin bags in the car or a change of t-shirt might be a good idea, too.

A splash of colour to the school

We do have a fundraising element to this event. We ask that children seek some sponsorship from family or friends to help out the school.

This year, funds raised will help us add a bit of colour and life into our garden areas. This includes new planter boxes and a vertical garden in front of the Year 3 portables and cleaning up and replanting the old garden beds at the front of the school. This will be for use in our Years 2 and 3 curricula, for lunchtime use by our environmental club, and for general enjoyment by everyone in the school.

To sponsor a year level, share this link with family and friends to make an online donation. It can be a great way to build anticipation for your child.

Please note, by default the name of sponsors will show up on the year level page. If you prefer, sponsors can select to hide their name when making a donation.

Student Counselling

onPsych is now available at our school!

Do you find that your child is having emotional or behavioural issues? Are they struggling socially, academically? RNPS now has a registered psychologist / accredited mental health social worker to support your child.

OnPsych will provide a registered psychologist / accredited mental health social worker who specialises in child and adolescent mental health. Their services are provided at the school at NO COST through Medicare bulk billing. They will work collaboratively with you, your child, and the teachers to maximise opportunities for positive growth.

If you believe that this might benefit you child, please contact the school administration staff to discuss or read the Parent Pack below for further information.

I hope to see you soon. The Colour Splash will be great fun and a good excuse to get together and celebrate the brightest, most amazing part of our school: our students.

Warm regards
