From the Principal's Desk

Great to be back!

Our children have settled back into school life beautifully since returning from the state's 'circuit breaker' lockdown. Considering the disruption, they seem to have appreciated the return to routine.

We do understand how difficult it has been for everyone over the past 12 months and how much anxiety has grown. Social distancing measures have meant that traditional, real-time community-building measures have been halted: the daily catch up with families at the gate, the venture into the classroom to share in your child's little successes or to look at his/her work, to share the task of changing readers, and the daily check-in with your child's teachers.

While our staff has been truly wonderful, creative and 'available' throughout the whole experience, nothing beats face-to-face time. Hopefully, over the coming weeks, we can begin to open up into the inclusive community in which we are.

Mobile Phones/Devices

A reminder that any child who brings a mobile phone to school must hand it in to the school office upon arrival and collect it after school finishes.  In the case of children wearing smartwatches,  the same procedure applies.

School Closure Day

Just a reminder that this Friday 26th February there will be a Professional Development Day for the staff. There will be NO SCHOOL for students on that day.

Big Brekky Take 2

I hope you all have the date of our Big Breakfast marked in your diary. If you have forgotten, here's the date again:  Friday 5th March.

This will be a great opportunity to catch up with everyone, meet new families and say 'hello to your child's teachers.

Our Big Brekky will feature a selection of muffins, pastries, doughnuts, and of course our traditional sausage sizzle. Basically, all the healthy stuff! We will of course complement this with a selection of fruit, juices, tea and coffee (from the onsite Coffee Van).

Let's hope the weather is kind to us. Remember wear your mask if you can't social distance.

PSG Meetings and Learning Conferences

Please be advised that Parent Support Group Meetings (PSGs) have been scheduled for:

Wednesday 17th March

Friday 19th March

Thursday 25th March

Friday 26th March

Applicable families will be contacted shortly.

There is some really exciting news on the e-Learning Page of our Newsletter so I urge you to click on the page!

Camps, Sports and Excursion Fund (CSEF)

A reminder that families who hold a valid Health Care Card for the 2021 year are able to receive a government rebate through the Camp, Sports and Excursion Fund (CSEF) which is currently set at $125 per primary-aged child.

Applications for the CSEF can be collected from the school office. We encourage families to submit these to the school office by the end of March.

Have a wonderful week

God bless
