Year 1 Maths

This term we have been exploring Place Value in Year 1. Last week the students enjoyed using hundreds charts to explore the concept of less than and more than for random numbers.

Year 1 Literacy

As part of The Daily 5 "Listen to Reading" we have been exploring an author study on Roald Dahl. During Fruit Break each day, the students listen to their teachers read a Roald Dahl story. 1A and 1B have been reading George's Marvellous Medicine and 1C and 1D have been reading Matilda. This fortnight the students grammar focus is adjectives. The students enjoyed using their knowledge of adjectives to create an acrostic poem relating to their text.
