Over the last few weeks the Prep students have completed many activities about playing safely in the playground. We have talked about the importance of following our school rules so that everybody can feel happy and safe at school!

The students have made some beautiful posters about our rules for the playground and participated in role plays to help them know what to do if they feel unhappy during recess and lunchtimes. This includes talking about the 3 step telling rule.

The 3 Step Telling Rule

Say “Stop it, I don’t like it”.
Say “Stop it, or I will tell the teacher”.
Go and tell the teacher.

Congratulations to the Preps for remembering our playground rules and trying hard to follow them. We have observed many students being ‘Great Mates’ in the playground. Well done to the Preps for looking out for their classmates, inviting others to play with them if they are alone and asking the ‘Yard Duty’ teacher for help when they need it.
