A message from Dr Jake
Dear Parents & Friends,
In the Diocese of Armidale, our Catholic schools “exist not just to be different but to make a difference”. This is the call made to all of our schools. Yes, we are different to the school down the road but more than this, we have to make a difference to the lives of the children, the parents, the staff, the parish community and the wider community! We do this by who we are and by what we do.
Actions speak much louder than words. We have to be “doers” more than we are “sayers”. We have to give example and witness to the children around us (not just our own children either!).
So how is St Edward’s “Making the Difference”? You can see tangible signs all around you - welcoming atmosphere, family orientation, justice, compassion, understanding, truth, forgiveness, academic excellence - the list can go on and on. Children, staff and parents can relay stories to you that will give testament to these signs. We see it in the relationships that form, in the words that are spoken, in the deeds that are done. We see it in ourselves and in those around us.
Based on the teachings of Jesus Christ and supported by family and our parish Church, we make a difference by ...
Together it is possible to make a difference! We can and we do.... and I can see that word is travelling fast around the neighbourhood. Our Kindergarten enrolment enquiries for 2022 are flooding in. If you know of a family or friend "who wants to have what you are having", then encourage them to complete an application form as early as possible. Given the outstanding literacy/numeracy results of our Kindergarten students in just one year, I suspect waiting lists may occur as the year goes on.
As always feel free to say hello. We are here to help!
Enjoy your weekend!
Peace & Best Wishes.
