Associate Principal, Operations Report

Parent Survey

As we return to remote learning – our RLC 2.0 – we are well placed to manage this period effectively. All of us can reflect on the positives we learnt last time and we can work to improve the things which we can do better.

In my Year 10 class, for example, Zac Pringle has been nominated (by me) as my “minder.”  His role is to remind me if I have used up too much of the lesson time talking.  Already today, he had his timer primed!

Our South Australians are back safely across the border and we look forward to them joining us from their various locations after a couple of days being off-line as they prepared to move and then travelled.

Our international students are buoyed by the fact that they are again on the same terms as everyone else. The Year 12 students at home in mainland China have received confirmation that they will be able to sit their VCE exams at centres in China; our Hong Kong Year 12s know that steps are being taken to arrange a centre in HK also.

Whilst the lock down is a set back, we have much to be positive about as we face these twenty-eight school days.  As was presented to us in the Laidlaw/Learmonth Service on Wednesday morning, we can have great hopes for beyond that time.

To all our students: keep well, keep working hard and keep a sense of balance in your lives.  Best wishes to all other members of the School Community also.
