Students will also be participating in the Geelong Tertiary Futures Program early next term. Year 8 students have finished their unit on light and have turned their attention to energy. They began the topic with a practical investigation into energy transfer making and testing paper cup telephones. The students found that thick strings work better than thin strings and that the sound actually travels quite a long way. It was also fun to cross the strings over and get 4-way conversations happening.
