Da Vinci Decathlon

Earlier this term students from Years 7 to Year 9 competed against the top schools in the state.

We are very excited to announce our Year 9 team achieved a 2nd Place for legacy. It is a massive achievement and we are extremely proud of our students at Scoresby Secondary College.

Congratulations to you all.

Year 7 – 9 students have just finished the topic Probability. Whilst in Year 10, students have been working on financial Mathematics.

Our Year 8 students completed an assignment, where they worked with their peers and constructed an original game. It was exciting to witness the students working collaboratively and using their creativity. Students thoroughly enjoyed the games day, where students showcased their games and enjoyed playing them.

Money Talk

Early next term students in Years 9 and 10 will participate in a Money Talk. This is an educational program which is offered to school students free of charge.

It explores ways to make money to help build financial independence and how to navigate the workplace including understanding your rights at work and managing superannuation and tax.

Workshop A: Students delve into the world of work, looking at the different ways and approaches to make money. They discuss their rights as an employee and how to have difficult conversations at work.

Workshop B: Students gain an awareness of their personal brand and learn practical skills including reading pay slips and understanding tax and superannuation.
