Chang Review

Throughout this year the students of Chang have fully engaged themselves in all aspects of college life; from participation in SACCS, talent quest, debating and taking on starring roles in the college production of Les Miserables. Students of Chang have relished opportunities to display their musical and sporting talents. Participation in cluster sport has been strong throughout the course of the year, with the Chang team being equally humble in their successes and dignified in their defeats. As a cluster we have been active in supporting social justice initiatives, with our student organised Chang Fete successful raising upwards of $400 for Timor Leste. The fete saw each home group run their own stalls; from sausages, to subway cookies, to crispy creams and the by far the best pancakes the college has seen to date.

No matter what challenges and hardships 2019 has thrown at us, the students of Chang have stood united and shown their support for one another. We have held true to our cluster value of compassion, as we have shown genuine care and consideration for one another and the larger college community. As the graduating Class of 2019 enter into the final stages of our high school education journey we, now more then ever we must muster up the endeavour needed to endure the exhausting, seemingly endless array of exam preparation and begin to pursue with steadfast dedication our ambitions, aspirations and dreams for life beyond school.

I would personally like to express my gratitude to my fellow Chang students who have helped me to carve life-long memories out of my time here at the college. I’m sure every student can recall a time over their personal journeys, in which they can be thankful for the companionships forged within the Chang Cluster. My experience as Chang Cluster leader has been one of pride, personal growth and most importantly an emphatic sense of community. I am thankful for having had the opportunity to be involved in the organisation of cluster events and hope that my commitment has helped to enhance the experience of the  current and future Chang student body.  I would encourage the Class of 2020, as well as next years new year 11 students, to make the most of each and every opportunity available to them and to seize their chance to leave a lasting legacy within the Chang Cluster.
