Eclipse House News

Term One
With the end of Term One approaching, it has been so good to see all of the Eclipse boys work consistently throughout the ten weeks. There is a huge sense of anticipation with holidays being so close and some of the boys are very much longing for home. I have enjoyed hearing tales from several of the lads about their farms, homes and families and wish you all a safe and enjoyable Easter and School holiday break.
Animal Production Systems
David Carmody and Jack Hooper recently competed against students from other schools and Agricultural Colleges offering Agriculture as a course in Years Eleven and Twelve.
Each student was given a different task during the day to demonstrate their understanding of a variety of presentations about the beef supply chain.
Jack was awarded second place and David was awarded a third place. Well done, boys!
Academic Support
With the start of Term Two, I again encourage all of the boys to take advantage of the after-school academic support offered by subject teachers as well as the in-house tutors available for boarders. Whilst there is no compulsory attendance required, it is my view that an hour of extra assistance for each subject is a worthwhile and positive step in ensuring maximum understanding as we approach mid-year exams and assessments.
As always, I will be reviewing your child’s academic transcript and having conversations about what areas require extra support and how we can facilitate this with the range of tutors available.
Year Twelve Ball
As is tradition with both senior houses, the Eclipse House boys came together for a photo at the Year Twelve Ball.
I look forward to welcoming you back after the break and again wish you all a safe and blessed time together as a family.
