Friday 15 November - Suffolk Puffs sewing workshop with Mrs Horoch was attended by only a handful of people. We all really enjoyed learning a new sewing skill with the master quilter. Mrs Horoch will run this workshop again in 2020. Don’t miss out on the second time. Believe me, you can all do this. The hardest thing to do was to thread the needle!

Culture Club - China
Did you know that paper was invented in China as far back as 100 BC during the Han Dynasty? It was therefore fitting that our third Culture Club China session involved working with paper. After listening to a presentation by Mrs Meng, all the students made little Chinese paper lanterns with the help of Mrs Wang, Mrs Tan, and Miss Lim. Mrs Meng worked with small groups of children to guide them towards creating their own cut paper masterpieces.
We were so fortunate that Ms Qiao came back to perform a couple of tunes using another traditional Chinese instrument, the Hulusi Cucurbit Flute. Most of us, have never seen this instrument before! The Chinese instrument is made using a gourd and three bamboo reeds. Some of our students and teachers recognised the traditional Scottish song Auld Lang Syne played using this unique Chinese instrument!! This was a genuine cultural treat for us. Thank you!
We will have our last Culture Club China Session this Friday. We will look forward to tasting some home-cooked Chinese food.
