From the Principal's Desk

Our school year is rapidly drawing to a close as we come to our final few weeks of the 2019 school year. As is normal at this time of the year, we have some staff who will be leaving Burrendah PS. Mr Andrew Holyoake has been successful in being selected as a teacher at a school in Albany. While Mr Holyoake is sad to leave Burrendah after so many years he is keen to embrace the opportunities teaching in the country can bring. I would like to thank Mr Holyoake for his dedication to Burrendah and on behalf of our school community wish him well at his new school.

Connect
Thank you to the number of families that have either attended a Parent Connect Workshop or have finalised the process to be a member of our Burrendah’s Connect Community. However, there are a number of families that have not completed their invitation to Connect. After accepting the email invitation there are some further steps to do, to activate your ‘P’ number. This number is needed to log in to Connect to be able to see your child’s end of year report. If you have any queries please contact Julie Scaramella at Reception. Further information can be found within this newsletter including a how to video
Salvation Army Bushfire Disaster Appeal
Students and staff have discussed how our school can support the communities which were devastated by the recent bushfires in New South Wales and Queensland. It has overwhelmingly been decided to hold a fundraising gold coin donation free dress day on Friday 6th December. Our aim is to raise $1000 to donate to the Salvation Army Bushfire Disaster Appeal.
Chaplaincy Program
I am pleased to announce we have been successful in securing continued funding for our chaplaincy program for 2020-2021. Our Chaplaincy program is highly beneficial to our students, parents and staff and has helped make such a difference to the health and wellbeing of so many.
Interschool Athletics
Burrendah PS recently participated in our annual Interschool Athletics Carnival. Congratulations to the students who were selected to represent Burrendah. You demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship on the day. Thank you to Mr Crouch for organising this event. Results can be found further in the newsletter.
