A Message from Lisa....

Term 4 is flying by very quickly and we have lots of exciting events coming up.  Teachers are currently completing assessments, writing reports and preparing 2020 grade lists.

The swimming program begins next week for children in grades prep to four. Please check Compass later this week for information and reminders about the program.

We have a number of children wanting to use their KEFAR tokens for an 'AGPS gold class experience' so we are currently looking for comfy bean bags.  If you have one that you no longer want and would like to donate to us, please drop them off at the school office.

Walk to School

It was wonderful to see all of the children walking (or riding/scooting) to school in October. Many families made a great effort to reduce their reliance on their cars and promote healthy and sustainable habits. To celebrate everyone's effort, we were treated with a free Subway lunch! Thank you to Neville for organising this for our school - it was highly successful.

Grandparents' Day

On the 25th October we invited all the grandparents to AGPS. It was wonderful to see so many grandparents visiting classrooms and completing special activities with their grandchildren. The kids absolutely loved having their grandparents in their classrooms and many grandparents spoke to us about how they loved the opportunity to visit the classrooms and the school.

We then had the Coon Toasty van that the Parents and Friends organised prepare delicious toastie lunches for everyone.

Attendance/Compass

In order to minimise disruption to classes and maximise learning opportunities for our students, please make sure children are at school on time. We would like to encourage all children to be at school at 8:50am to be ready for the school day. If your child is late for any reason, they must come via the office to collect a late pass and be marked off by Jenny on Compass.

Please ensure that if your child is leaving early for any reason that you collect them from the office at one of the following times:

11:00am

11:30am

1:30pm

2:15pm

as this is less disruptive to classes.  Please note that we are unable to find children out in the yard during break times. If your child is late or leaving early, there is no reason to put it on Compass - Jenny will do this.  You only need to record a whole day off school on Compass.
