In the community

A big thank you for a very generous donation from Anne and Gilbert whose daughters Jasmine and Maya both attended TPS. Anne makes these most amazing doll houses which our students are going to love playing with.

Library News

We currently have 791 lost and missing books

We currently have 431 overdue books on our system

As a community who values reading and books we ask for your support to return and/or pay the fee for lost book to ensure we can continue to provide your children with quality reading texts.

Overdue and lost books will receive a notice and payment fee of $20.00 per student for lost or missing books.  There will be a freeze on borrowing until the book is returned or the fee is paid. Please see Leon or Megan for financial support if required to reset the borrowing rights.

In other news we are excited to we using our new library shelving and be rolling our new books for our Library this year thanks to generous donations and school resourcing.  New books will have a large yellow sticker on the back and will not be borrowed for the first term they are available so everyone has the chance to read and look at them in our library.

Reminder that the library is open lunchtimes everyday and is available to all students as a warm and quiet alternative to outside lunches.

Foodweb Term 2

Prep-Year 2 are doing Foodweb Education in Term 2.

We have been turning our Winmali Ngalabun-Gurnong (summer) garden into a Berrentak Darr- Karr (winter) garden. We have broccoli, kale, snow pea’s, lettuce, broad beans, silverbeet and murrnong daisies growing in our garden at the moment. We are also learning about seeds, lifecycles and looking after our garden at the moment. Next week we will look at the diversity of seed sizes and discover plant families. All the students are being such excellent, inquisitive learners.
