Sport Report

Congratulations to all students in Years 9 and 10 who represented MGSC on Monday 27 May at their winter Round Robin on a freezing cold, wet and windy day.

Both the netball teams coached by Ms Teagan Dixon together with her student coaches, Chloe Hollow (Year 11) and Lily Diggins (Year 11)  have progressed to the Southern Metropolitan Regional finals.

Soccer teams coached by Mr Marko Berkhout and Ms Dahli Briedis had wins on the day which will seem them competing in the Southern Metropolitan Regionals.

Unfortunately badminton coached by Mrs Jackie Mathews and accompanied on the day by Mr Tim Veevers, and handball coached by Mrs Carol Duggan and accompanied by Ms White on the day did not progress.

The winter Round Robin for Year 8s was on Thursday 6 June and for the Year 7s on Thursday 13 June. Good luck to all the student competitors, staff coaches and student coaches. We look forward to sharing the results in the next newsletter.

Fifteen Cross Country runners qualifed for the Southern Metropolitan Region level competition which will be in Langwarrin soon. The edge must have been the impressive braiding.

A reminder that emails are sent to all students, staff coaches and parents of the students prior to each round robin event. It would be greatly appreciated if students (and parents) could please take note of the time required to meet the staff coach as highlighted in the email. These times may be earlier than the ‘normal’ time and have been provided in order to ensure arrival at each venue is sufficient prior to the start of play. In addition, if you are not receiving these emails, please ensure that the college has the correct email address for you.
