Uniform & Personal Items

Uniform

All students are expected to wear the full BNPS school uniform including the correct coloured socks, BNPS jumpers, jackets, hats and appropriate footwear. Students should be neat and clean.

Lost Property

Lost Property is stored in the bins located in the Prep Breezeway. It is the student’s responsibility to promptly collect any lost property.

At the end of each Term, unnamed and unclaimed items are donated to the Uniform Shop for re-sale.

Labelling

We urge you to clearly label ALL garments, in particular jackets and tops so that items can be returned through our Lost Property system.

School hats, bags, lunch boxes, drink bottles and shoes should also be labelled. Click here for our labelling guidelines.

Library Bags

For book borrowing purposes, children are encouraged to have a protective Library bag labelled with both their first and surname. A Library bag protects the book, ensures the Library book is kept separate from household books when not in use (making it easier to locate!) and makes it easier for students to carry.

The Uniform Shop sells Library bags, however you may use any protective bag (preferably the size of a pillow slip to accommodate our larger books).

Water Bottles

Please encourage your child to bring a water bottle to school to use in the classroom.

Personal Property

We strongly discourage bringing valuable items to school. The Department of Education and Training (DET) does not hold insurance nor does it accept responsibility for personal property brought to schools by students, staff and visitors. DET has no capacity to pay for any loss or damage to such property.

Money

Children should only bring money to school for Canteen purchases – and only a small amount.

If you are sending money for your Prep/Year 1 child to purchase items from the Canteen (at lunch or recess), it is recommended that they bring a small named purse to keep in the front of their school bag.

Electronic Devices

Student personal mobile devices (including mobile phones, tablets and smart watches) must be switched off and handed to the classroom teacher at the start of the day.
