Absences, Late Arrival & Early Departure
Absences MUST be reported via Compass on the day of absence (early in the morning or ahead of time where possible).
Students arriving to school after 9.00am or leaving during school hours MUST be signed in/out by a parent/guardian via the Kiosk at the Office. Students are required to present a Kiosk slip to their Teacher or a 'Late Pass' if the Kiosk is down.
Please use Compass to let us know if your child will be arriving late (this does NOT replace the requirement to sign your child in via the Kiosk). If you do not enter an approval note advising us that your child will be late and your child arrives at school after 11.30am, you will receive an 'Attendance Notification: Student Unaccounted For' email.
Volunteers/Visitors
If you are visiting the school for ANY reason between 9.00am and 3.30pm (with the exception of usual school pick-up/drop off), you must report your arrival and departure via the Kiosk at the Office for Emergency Management purposes.
This includes taking your child to the classroom following late arrival, collecting your child from the classroom for early departure, volunteering and attending meetings.
Online Consent/Payment for Excursions & Incursions
A notification will appear at the top of the Compass News Feed when an excursion or incursion requires online consent/payment. If consent/payment for incursions and excursions is not received by the due date, your child will be unable to participate/attend.
If you elected NOT to pay ‘2020 Key Experiences’ in full, a payment section will appear for you to enter your credit card details before you can provide consent. Please note that if consent/payment is NOT completed by the 'due by date', you will no longer be able to provide online consent/payment.
Volunteers - Working with Children Check
If you have a current WCC but have NOT presented it at the Office, please do so ASAP so that it can be photocopied and placed on file for the school records. Alternatively, a photo of both sides of your card may be emailed to:

Anyone wishing to volunteer at BNPS is required to provide a Working with Children Check. Checks are free and valid for 5 years! Apply online at: http://www.workingwithchildren.vic.gov.au/
School Payments via Qkr
Make sure you have access to the Qkr app (pronounced ‘Quicker’) to enable you to use your smartphone to make school payments (without having to give your child cash to carry to school) including Canteen and Uniform Shop orders, and various school payments. A web-based version is also available.

11.00am - 11.30am (Recess)
1.30pm - 2.30pm (Lunch)
Please note that the Office is unattended from 8.40am to 8.50am daily (due to compulsory staff briefing) and closes at 4pm (earlier on the last day of term). The phone is switched to the answering machine at this time.
