Last Saturday was another tough day for most of our teams. I hope that we are learning from our mistakes and working towards beating the tactics that are being used against us. The trap has punished some of our teams and a lot of that has come from poor decisions and passes. This also comes from our inexperience and well executed plans from our opposition. I hope we can make the most of our next two rounds to improve our knowledge of the game and tactics.
There will be no training at Oxford Falls tomorrow afternoon due to the Founder's Day setup.
Game of the day: The 14As with our only win against St Augustine’s A teams.
Play of the day: Nick Biefield slots a couple of clutch 3 pointers for the 15As.

Round 5 Update: It was a great chance that the weather held and we could play both sessions on Saturday. We had teams playing AWAY against Barker, Redlands and Cammeraygal Teams, with some wins and losses across these fixtures. Of the SPX teams that played at Talus Street, the following Teams were victorious – some in straight sets 3-0!
SPX 1 (3-0), 6, 7, 10, 12, 14 (3-0), 16, 20 (3-0), 23, 24 (3-0), and 26.
Many of the spectators noted that the level of play had really lifted across all teams, as players have gathered momentum and become more aware of their own strengths and talents. It was impressive that some players made some team changes to accommodate students who had other commitments, while others showed great sportsmanship and a positive attitude when a couple of late forfeits needed to be called due to last minute illness.
The draw for the Finals will be issued by NSTA and posted during the week. Please contact team coaches directly – Mr Webster, Mr Cook, Ms Keighery and Ms Iwatani - regarding any intended absence so that teams can be well organised for Saturday. We don’t have a sports meeting this week due to the Founder’s Day celebrations so players pleased be organised and communicate well with team mates and your coaches, particularly this week.
Looking forward to our last week of play for 2018 at Talus Street next Saturday 24 November 2018.
